VitaSource™ (Provital)
A purified fraction of Scutellaria baicalensis root, standardized in baicalin, a plant flavonoid. In a supplier study, 1.5% VitaSource™ applied to the forearm twice daily for 56 days increased skin firmness and elasticity compared with placebo (Provital). That result belongs to the ingredient, not to PRIME Cream.

3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid
A vitamin C derivative in which an ethyl group stabilizes the molecule, so it oxidizes less readily than L-ascorbic acid. It is used in skincare for a brighter, more even-looking complexion.

Soluble collagen
A hydrating ingredient with large molecules that stay on the skin's surface, where they form a fine film that holds water and leaves skin smoother to the touch.

Botanical ingredients
Magnolol and honokiol, polyphenols from magnolia bark, have antioxidant properties shown in the laboratory. Ginseng root extract and Caulerpa lentillifera algae extract, known as "green caviar", round out the formula.

I conceived PRIME as the first stage of amerin's skin longevity philosophy: caring for skin before pronounced signs of ageing appear. For this cream, I selected a stable vitamin C derivative for radiance and VitaSource™ for its cosmetic research into firmness, then balanced them with hydrating ingredients in a texture suited to everyday use. The intention was not an intensive corrective treatment, but sophisticated care worth returning to each day.

How to use

  • Apply morning and/or evening to clean skin.
  • Smooth evenly over the face and neck and massage gently until absorbed.
  • In the morning, apply after serum and before sunscreen: PRIME Serum, PRIME Cream, then SPF.
  • In the evening, use it after serum as the last step, or alternate with CORRECT or ESSENTIAL products depending on your skin's needs.
  • If you use exfoliating acids or retinoids and your skin is sensitive, introduce combinations gradually. Use sun protection daily.

General warnings: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Discontinue use if irritation or redness occurs. Keep out of reach of children.

Questions about the formula

How is PRIME Serum different from PRIME Cream?
The serum concentrates two vitamin C derivatives and niacinamide for radiance and an even tone. The cream contains another stable form of vitamin C, 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, together with VitaSource™, a baicalin-based ingredient, soluble collagen and humectants. If you use both, apply the serum first, then the cream.
What is VitaSource™?
An ingredient developed by Provital from Scutellaria baicalensis root and standardized in baicalin. The supplier tested it at 1.5% against placebo, with results on skin firmness and elasticity; those results belong to the ingredient.
What does soluble collagen do in the formula?
It is a hydrating ingredient that acts at the skin's surface, forming a fine film that holds water and leaves skin smooth and soft to the touch. Glycerin and propanediol draw water into the skin's upper layers, while soluble collagen keeps it at the surface, so the cream hydrates in two complementary ways.
Does it suit combination skin?
Yes, if you like a cream with a balanced consistency. Apply a thin layer on the T-zone. For oily skin, PRIME Serum followed by SPF may be enough in the morning.
