SymLift® (Symrise)
A complex of trehalose, beta-glucan, barley seed extract and sodium hyaluronate. On application it forms a fine film that smooths the skin's surface; the effect is cosmetic and temporary. In a Symrise test on 21 people aged 45–55, 5% SymLift® dissolved in water reduced the look of crow's-feet wrinkles five minutes after application, compared with water (Symrise, patent US 11918679). That result belongs to the ingredient, tested in a simple solution.

SYN-TC® peptides (dsm-firmenich)
Three synthetic peptides that, in the supplier's laboratory studies, increased the formation of collagen types I, III, IV, VII and XVII. In a consumer study, people using a formula with 2.5% SYN-TC® perceived their skin as smoother after 28 days (dsm-firmenich). These data belong to the ingredient.

Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone)
A fat-soluble antioxidant found naturally in skin cells. Applied topically, coenzyme Q10 reached the living layers of the epidermis and lowered oxidation levels, and the same research found shallower wrinkles after it was applied (Hoppe et al., 1999). In the serum it is paired with vitamin E, another fat-soluble antioxidant.

SymLift®, SYN-TC® peptides and coenzyme Q10 have complementary roles in a formula focused on the appearance of firmness, fine lines and suppleness. How to use

Morning and evening, apply 2–3 drops to clean skin.
Smooth over the face and neck and massage gently until absorbed.
Follow with a moisturizer, such as REBORN Cream.
In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
The serum contains no exfoliating acids or retinoids. If you use it alongside such products and your skin is sensitive, introduce combinations gradually. Avoid contact with the eyes.

Questions about the formula

How is it different from DEFEND Serum?

In its actives. DEFEND pairs Matrixyl™ 3000 peptides with VitaSource™ and focuses on hydration. REBORN combines SymLift®, a complex that forms a fine film on application, SYN-TC® peptides and coenzyme Q10.

How do I use it with REBORN Cream?

Apply the serum first, then the cream. The cream adds SymLift® and a hydration complex modeled on the skin's natural moisturizing factors, in a richer texture.

What is Ubiquinone, in the product name?

It is the ingredient-list (INCI) name for coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant naturally present in skin. In the serum it is paired with vitamin E.

Can I use it with vitamin C or retinoids?

Yes. In the morning, apply it after a vitamin C serum. If you use retinoids or exfoliating acids in the evening, apply REBORN in the morning or on evenings without them.
